The Vinorama Museum is in Ermatingen, about 8 km northwest of Kreuzlingen, and deals with the local history of the Untersee. Although, as the name implies, the focus is on viticulture, the museum provides the visitor with an understanding of the Middle Ages, when the surrounding area was dominated by the Reichenau monastery. It also gives an insight into how, in the 19th century, the Napoleon family influenced life around the lake. The museum building is also used for cultural events.
