Located about 4 km south of Lauterbrunnen, the Trümmelbach Falls are inside a mountain and yet still within reach. There are ten glacial falls which are illuminated and accessed by means of a tunnel-lift. The Trümmelbach alone drains the massive glacial walls of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, which create a spectacular 20,000 litres of water per second from a 24 km² catchment area. An exceptional sight and rated three stars by Michelin, the falls are open from early April to early November and are listed in the ‘Federal Inventory of Landscapes and Natural Monuments of National Importance of Switzerland’.
