The Trift Aerial Cable Car travels up the gorge to the Trift Glacier (Triftglescher). The top station is the starting point for a 1.5 hour hike to the spectacular 110 metre long Trift Bridge (Hängebrücke), the longest suspension bridge of its type in Europe. The Trift and Windegg huts are available for refreshments and rest and are the starting points for other alpine hikes. The cable car lower station is on the Susten pass road, about 18 km east of Meiringen, and the trip up the gorge with 8 passengers takes about 10 minutes.
