The port of Neuchâtel has been relocated and its facilities modified several times. From here you can embark on a cruise or hire a pedalo. Nearby is the tourist office, housed in the Hôtel des Postes, the former post office building. Since the Middle Ages, Neuchâtel has been reclaiming land from the lake, moving the town further away from the lakeshore. Today, the new areas offer space for relaxation and recreation, like walking or cycling on the Quai Ostervald. There are also several new beaches which have been formed, including the immensely popular Jeunes Rives.
