Located in the renovated ‘Music Container’ building in the village of Uster, the Swiss Jazz Museum, which opened in 1992, incorporates the Jazz Archive and also stages changing exhibitions related to Swiss jazz. Covering both the traditional and contemporary, jazz history in Switzerland is illustrated by means of photos, posters and exhibits. Special events are organized and the media room has PCs with direct access to the archive programmes, as well as video facilities. The archive stores shellac records, LPs, cassettes, compact discs, photos, posters, magazines, books, video tapes, musical scores and musical instruments, and there is a shop.
