The Baroque St Ulrich Church, having endured several major fires in its history, was restored in 1967; fortunately many valuable features survived. The ceiling paintings, depicting monastic scenes, are by Franz Ludwig Herrmann, the splendid 1737 choir screen by Johann Jakob Hoffner and the larger than life statues of Saints Ulrich and Afra were carved by Hans Christoph Schenk. In the Chapel of the Mount of Olives, the 1761 ceiling painting is again by Franz Ludwig Herrmann, but the highlight is the wood carving of the Passion by Innozenz Beck, which has about 250 individual figures and is surmounted by a 15th century cross.
