Securities and bonds are an unusual subject for a museum, but Wertpapierwelt, which was opened in 2003, is a fascinating place. The first major corporation was established in 1602 and the museum has more than 7,000 exhibits from over 130 countries; its most valuable and prize exhibit is a share from Alfred Nobel, the first armaments manufacture. The collection focuses on six major fields: early companies, securities with an economic or cultural background, important original signatures on shares loans, art on shares, internationally famous and symbolic companies and Swiss securities. The museum stages special thematic exhibitions.
