Scherrer Park is an odd place; it has a Greek temple, a Siamese teahouse and an Egyptian temple decorating the grounds. Monuments of different periods and cultures gives you the unique opportunity of taking an extraordinary trip in time and space, where past and present, history and nature meet. The park was the brainchild of Hermann Arthur Scherrer, a rich textile merchant. Inspired by oriental landscapes, Scherrer wanted the park to contain the great works of art of oriental sculpture and architecture. It is a wonder treat to sit in the shade and enjoy the splendid view of the lake.
