Sauvabelin Lake is a magical spot for both romantic interludes and family outings. There is a delightful waterside park with a wide variety of domesticated animals such as cows, pigs, sheep and goats, as well as peacocks and other exotic birds. For refreshments there is a rustic restaurant set in a centuries-old oak forest. Boats are available to rent on the lake, although this service stops from mid-October until the end of winter. Conveniently located only a short bus ride from the heart of Lausanne’s city centre, this is a treat not to be missed.
