The Rural Heritage Museum of the Mendrisiotto is unique. Its aim is to preserve the rural heritage of the Mendrisiotto and Basso Ceresio. The museum, which opened in 1981, belongs to the Municipality of Stabio. Apart from displaying ancient means of transport, such as wagons, carts and gigs, the equipment of the cartwright is also exhibited. A collection of traps and snares for foxes, martens, badgers, rats and birds, are displayed. Also worth viewing is the unusual and detailed collection of nocturnal butterflies, all of which are harmful to agriculture. There is also a display of rustic tapestries.
