Rovio sits on a terrace of Monte Generoso and is overlooked by the silhouette of Monte St. Agata. Archaeological diggings in the area have uncovered tombs from both the Bronze and Roman eras. Special places of interest include the Sovaglia Falls, Roman sarcophagi, used as public fountains, and a Roman altar dedicated to Jupiter (located in the Conza House). Other interesting sites worthy of visits are the Parish Church of Saints Vitale and Agata, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption, the Chapel of St. Vigilio (dating back to the 11th Century), and the Town Hall, which is a 19th Century neoclassical building.
