Art dealer Angela Rosengart established the Rosengart Foundation in 1992 to maintain and exhibit her collection of 19th and 20th century artists. It is located in an interesting 1924 neo-classicist building, formerly the home of the Swiss National Bank. The collection comprises more than 200 works by 23 different artists, most importantly some 125 works by Paul Klee (1879-1940) and about 50 by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973). Amongst others represented are Bonnard, Braque, Cézanne, Chagall, Kandinsky, Léger, Matisse, Miró, Modigliani, Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, Rouault, Signac, Utrillo and Vuillard. Angela Rosengart was a personal friend of Picasso who painted her portrait five times.
