The Pre Murin Park is a protected area registered as one of the Swiss wetlands of national importance. It lies within a small valley between the villages of Ligornetto and Besazio. The reserve is made up of woods, swamps, streams, meadows, orchards and vineyards. A remarkable number of animal, vegetable and fungus species thrive in the reserve. This is due to the intensive agriculture carried out in some areas, which encourages the presence of both animal and vegetable species.
