The Park of Villa Negroni is delightful, with an Italian-style parterre and a vast area in English style. The 18th century villa is one of the most prestigious in the region. Built by Carlo Morosini of Lugano, Villa Negroni has changed hands many times. Near the building is a garden in formal Italian style, complete with ossuary and chapel. Statuary and vases of stone flowers are displayed in a corner of the garden around a hand made bouquet of wrought-iron flowers. The ‘Italian’ garden gradually dissolves into the boundaries of the ‘English’ garden, situated on a lower, sloping part of the park.
