The Museum of Art is located on the top floor of the Culture and Conference Centre (see separate entry) and was also designed by the centre’s distinguished French architect, Jean Nouvel. The museum has 19 rooms covering an area of 2,100 square metres and as well as exhibitions from its own collection, has temporary exhibitions, with particular emphasis on Swiss 19th and 20th century landscape paintings and international art from 1960. Swiss art is covered from the Renaissance to the present day and includes works by Kaspar Meglinger, Johann Melchior, Alexandre Calame, Robert Zünd, Ferdinand Hodler and Hans Emmenegger amongst many others.
