Museo Plebano was opened in 1955 and refurbished in 1992. It houses a permanent collection of archaeological findings. Of special note are Roman household wares and coins, and an imperial banner donated by General Suvorov. In addition, the museum holds a parchment bearing the date 735; it is written in Merovingian and certifies the existence of a “presbiterium” in Agno; numerous original parchments, dating from 1190 to 1520 and bearing a papal stamp. There are also some splendid sarcophagi, one of Longobard stone, another from Byzantine and one of Northern-Etruscan origin. There is also a display of Roman artefacts.
