Morges Château was first constructed in 1286 under the orders of Ludwig of Savoy. The castle is immense with four round corner towers, which is typical of the "carré savoyard" style. It underwent considerable alterations during the 16th and 17th Centuries when it was enlarged. Morges Castle was completely restored in 1948 and now houses several military and historic museums, including the museum of historic pewter figures with 10,000 figures and the Musée Militaire Vaudois (see separate entry).
