The town of Meiringen is principally known for its skiing and is located approximately 14 km east of Brienz. If you are visiting the town or taking taking a trip inland from Brienz, the Schwimmbad Meiringen is an open-air bathing complex alongside the River Aare. The swimmers’ pool, at a constant 24°C, is complemented by a non-swimmers’ pool and a children’s paddling pool. Features include a 68-metre waterslide, various pool accessories, 1-metre and 3-metre diving platforms, grassed sunbathing areas with shade and games areas for Frisbee, badminton, table tennis and other sports. Facilities include changing cubicles, showers and toilets and a kiosk.
