The Mario Bernasconi Museum was founded in a building behind the house where the sculptor was born. The museum features artwork by Mario Barnasconi (1899 - 1963) and his wife, the painter, Irma Bernasconi Pannes (1902 - 1971). Mario Bernasconi was born in 1899 in Pazallo. He trained at the school of Luigi Vassalli and then was taught by Giuseppe Foglia, where he learnt how to sculpt. Irma and Mario married in 1927 and together, they left for Germany. In 1929 they came back to Ticino and lived in Capriasca.
