The beautiful marina at Morges, which is a fascinating place to people watch, came about because the town was once an important shipping centre. The port, which was built at the end of the 17th Century, is now home to luxury yachts instead of the larger commercial vessels which once filled the berths. The pedestrian promenade along the lake shoreline, which stretches from the castle all the way to the Vertou Park, offers an exceptional view of the lake and Savoy Alps.
