The conveniently situated and spacious Lucerne Lido dates back to 1885 and has been subject to many renovation projects. It is in the process of further reconstruction following an architectural competition won by local architects Bosshard & Luchsinger in 2008. Apart from lake bathing, there are two non-swimmers’ pools, which were originally segregated, and sunbathing areas with shade if required. Facilities include changing cubicles, showers and toilets. There is also a bar/kiosk which serves light meals. A sauna is under consideration for the restoration project.
