Locarno probably has one of the best positions on Lake Maggiore. It nestles in a pretty little bay and has plenty for visitors to see. Visit the Pizza Grande and see beautiful gardens full of flowers or the Castello Visconti, the Kursaal or the magnificent church of Madonna del Sasso. To really get a feel for this beautiful town take a cable car up to the church where there are some breathtaking views across to the lake.
