Archaeological finds made in the Dala valley prove Leukerbad’s settlement dates back to Roman-Helvetian times, at the latest the 2nd century AD. The hot springs deliver 3.9 million litres of thermal water per day to 30 baths. Leukerbad is an all-year-round sports, leisure and wellness destination. The town offers alpine and cross-country skiing, winter and summer hiking trails, fixed-rope climbing, biking, an ice rink, tennis, squash, badminton and mini-golf as well as a selection of cultural activities. Leukerbad is also host to concerts, stage productions, an international literature festival and the Varner Wine Week.
