The Laténium Park and Archaeologial Museum in Neuchâtel offers an amazing 50,000 years of prehistory and history in its original setting. Over the last few years, more than one hundred archaeological sites have been excavated, with several actually under the lake being exposed, covering a period stretching from Neanderthal man to the Middle Ages. Laténium was named in homage to La Tène which, from Ireland to Romania, marks the Celtic civilisation of the 2nd Iron Age. The museum has full disabled access and there is a café on site with a terrace overlooking the lake.
