The Lake of Geneva Museum is unique in covering the cultural and natural heritage of one of Western Europe’s largest lakes. Large aquariums enable visitors to observe the plants and fishes of the region. Scale models of boats, a fisherman’s shanty, objects, paintings (particularly those by Abraham Hermanjat), etchings, photos and documents render a vivid image, not only of the past and the present, but of the future of the lake. One of the museum’s aspirations is to develop a genuine centre for documentation and training.
