The attractive Heimwehfluh viewpoint above Interlaken, at an altitude of 662 metres, is reached by a nostalgic old-type funicular opened in 1906, which takes 3-4 minutes from the Interlaken West station. Apart from the fantastic views, there is a modern model railway with 200 metres of twin track and 6-7 trains. You can take a toboggan ride back down to the lower station at your own controlled speed or take a bob run around Heimwehfluh. There are beautiful woodland paths to explore, a large children’s playground and a restaurant.
