Heidegg Castle is located about 23 km north of Lucerne on the outskirts of Gelfingen and high above Lake Baldegg. Dating from the 12th century, the renovated tower houses a museum, which is devoted to the history of the area and includes archaeological artefacts from the castle. There is much to enjoy here, including the celebrated rose garden, the marble labyrinth in the Attic Dream Castle, the ‘Way of the Seven Bridges’, the nearby playground, temporary exhibitions and the Sleeping Beauty Café. This is also the home of the well known Heidegger wine, which has been produced here since the 13th century.
