The Lugano Golf Club, which was founded in 1923, is an 18 hole course (PAR – 5,575 metres). Situated a few kilometres outside Lugano, the course was designed by the architect Donald Herradine and is set in a spectacular landscape of birch woods, oaks, pines, rhododendrons and azaleas. The course is considered demanding because of water obstacles, narrow fairways, lush vegetation and the Magliasina River. The course is suited to both powerful play and accuracy. The greens are always well protected from natural and artificial obstacles.
