The Giovanni Züst gallery showcases Ticino artists from the 17th to the 19th centuries. The collection began with the work owned by Giovanni Züst (1887-1976) and is still dominated by the paintings and drawings of Antonio Rinaldi (1816-1875). Other artists, internationally known, such as Giovanni Serodine from the 17th Century are represented. The gallery has three paintings by Serodine: Ritratto di ragazzo con fogli disegnati (Portrait of a boy with drawings), La Vergine dei Mercedari (The Virgin of Mercedari) and San Pietro in Carcere (St Peter in prison). This last is the most precious work in the collection.
