The Seebad Gelfingen is situated on the north-eastern shore of the Baldeggersee about 23 km north of Lucerne and close to Heidegg Castle (see separate entry). This is an attractive and popular swimming area on a small idyllic lake some 5.2 km² (about 2 square miles) in area. Entry is free and features include floats, one-metre and three-metre diving platforms, grassed areas with shade suitable for both sunbathing and picnics and games areas for Frisbee, badminton and other sports. Facilities include a barbeque area, changing cubicles and toilets.
