The fountain in Piazza Riziero Rezzonico, close to the lake, is a stunning combination of movement and artistry. The vibrancy of the monument reflects the activity of Lugano, which revolves around the three squares surrounding the Town Hall (1844-1845 by G. Moraglia from Milan). These are Municipio, Palazzo Civico and Town Hall. To the north is another square, the Piazza della Riforma. The long lakeside promenade from Cassarate to Paradiso has sub-tropical gardens with modern sculptures by G. Genucchi, O. Zadkine and P. Selmoni.
