The Fountain of Justice was created in 1605, by Benoit Magnin. Benoit Magnin had committed himself to creating an octagonal fountain, twelve feet in length, eight feet in width and three feet deep. His design was to make water run in the basin and to distil it into two smaller basins and to provide, out of cement, iron and lead, the figure of the statue of justice. His payment is recorded as being a sum of money, an acceptance into the bourgeoisie of Cudrefin and 900 litres of red wine. The fountain was restored between 1991 and 1992.
