The attractive Alpine village of Finhaut is made up of the two of hamlets Cotze and Léamon, which were once separated by a forest. Since tourism started there in 1872, the forest which separated them has been replaced by the hotels which occupy the centre of the village. Cotze is home to le Chalet Suisse, a hotel built in wood at the end of the 19th century for the Exposition Nationale de Zürich. Léamon’s principal street is the old mule track which crosses the Fond. Not far from there the old dairy being used today as a distillery during the winter.
