The Church of St Martin is Romanesque in style. Although the exact date is unknown, it was erected between the 12th and 13th centuries. The church was constructed over the foundations of a much earlier religious building, the remains of which are visible inside. On the 11th of November, the day of St. Martin’s Feast, the area around the church is used for an old-style country market. Every space inch of space is filled with stalls, traditional food outlets and also a cattle market. This is one of the last reminders of the Swiss rural way of life.
