Built on a rock on the shores of Lake Geneva, the Château de Chillon is one of Switzerland’s most beautiful sites. The castle has been a prince’s residence (Pierre, Earl of Savoy 1203 - 1268), an arsenal and a fortress. This exceptional combination allows visitors to take a voyage into the past through the dungeon made famous by Lord Byron, the sumptuous halls and the chapel with its frescos from the Middle Ages. There are magnificent collections of antique furniture, pewter and weapons. The towers and ramparts offer wonderful views over lake and mountains.
