Casima is an attractive small alpine village on the right side of the Muggio Valley. During the 16th Century the village was attached to Cabbio. The village is popular as a summer destination due to its pleasant surroundings and its sunny location. Casima has recently become a hamlet of Castel San Pietro. Interesting buildings include the Church of St. Maria and St. Carlo Borromeo, which was rebuilt in 1823. From Casima there are trails across Monte Generoso, or walkers can descend into the valley and climb up to the villages on the left side. There is an arched stone bridge over the River Breggia.
