Cabbio, a quaint village nestling in the Muggio Valley, is first documented in the 12th Century, but was inhabited long before. The village is the home of the Cantoni family of artists (see separate entry for Casa Cantoni). Interesting buildings to visit include the Church of the Ascension and St. Salvatore (1740-1780), the 18th Century Chapel of St. Antonio del Gaggio and the public fountain in neoclassical style, designed by the architect, Luigi Fontana of Muggio.
