Buonas, located approximately 8 km north of Küssnacht, is a village in the Risch-Rotkreuz municipality and has a small but interesting Local History Museum on the village outskirts. Opened in 1965, it is housed in a 1785 cheese factory building, which was later used as a liquor distillery. The collection includes objects related to cheese-making and farming, household items and 200-year-old tools used by the cooper, blacksmith and also in the rope-making trade. Of particular interest are the local archaeological finds, which include Neolithic stone tools. Check the opening times, which are restricted.
