Brusino Arsizio is an ancient village on the lake, located at the foot of Monte San Giorgio. Originally a fishing village, the historical old town spreads out along the shore, with its focal point being the church. Interesting buildings include the two 18th Century churches, one dedicated to St. Michael and the other to the Blessed Virgin of Sorrows. A climb to the Alp of Brusino, Serpiano and Monte San Giorgio will reward the effort by offering many scenic viewpoints. There are 1,000-year-old chestnut trees on the alp. A cable car runs between Brusino and Serpiano.
