The nine hole Bürgenstock Golf Course is situated about 16 km southeast of Lucerne and is part of the Bürgenstock Hotel Resort; at 920 metres above sea level it overlooks Lake Lucerne. One of the oldest courses in Switzerland, it was founded in 1928 and designed by Fritz Frey; although the 9 holes only measure 2,172 metres with a par rating of 33, it calls for great accuracy. Facilities include a driving range, putting green, pitching green, a pro shop and a restaurant. Clubs and trolleys are available for hire. There are many more amenities at the resort, five minutes walk away.
