The historic town of Bremgarten is located approximately 15 km southeast of Lenzburg and is surrounded on three sides by the River Reuss. The town was granted its charter by Rudolf I of Habsburg around 1238-40 and the landmark Spittelturm and the wooden bridge over the Reuss date from this time. Parts of the town wall and its battlement have been preserved and the pedestrianized old town is a cultural monument and has many Gothic and Baroque style buildings. The town’s four markets are one of its main tourist attractions. The town museum is in Kornhausplatz.
