The small but pretty Strandbad Beckenried is in an attractive position on the south shore of the lake, approximately 22 km southeast of Lucerne. In addition to swimming in Lake Lucerne, it has two children’s paddling pools and other features include a games area for Frisbee, badminton, and other sports, and grassed areas with shade suitable for both sunbathing and picnics. Facilities provided include changing cubicles, showers and toilets and there is a restaurant. In Beckenreid there are a number of interesting churches and chapels worth visiting.
