For a great place to spend a day the Attractions Park in Le Châtelard, situated 19 km from Chamonix and 23 km from Martigny, takes some beating. It offers three different rail attractions. The two-carriage Historical Funicular, dating back to 1920, is the steepest in the world with an 87% gradient. There is also a Scenic Train (60 cm gauge) and a mobile balcony facing the Mont Blanc and a Mini-funicular. Set in the heart of the Alps, this is a brilliant place for all ages. The new activities in the museum allows visitors to see the magnificent panorama even when the weather is bad.
