Arogno, situated just 16 km from Lugano, is a pretty hillside village set on a protected terrace. Panoramic views surround the village, which was the birthplace of Adamo d’Arogno, famous for the Cathedral in Trento. Interesting buildings worthy of visit include the baroque Church of St. Stephen dating from the 16th Century and renovated in the 17th, the Chapel of St. Rocco with its medieval hall, the Chapel of St. Vitale dating back to the 8th Century and the hexagonal fountain dedicated to Adamo d’Arogno.
