Apart from skiing and snowboarding (see separate entry), the Andermatt has a great deal to offer winter visitors. For cross-country enthusiasts there are 28 km of defined paths, skiing along the Reuss and a further 3 km of night course at Realp. Winter and snow shoe walkers, wishing to enjoy the winter landscape on foot, will find the Andermatt region has 20 km of prepared trails, which vary from 2 to 8 km in length. A further alternative is the 4.5 km sledging run from the Nätschen down to Andermatt.
