Located on the outskirts of Villnachern, which lies some 14 km west of Baden, a visit to the Schwimmbad Villnachern could be combined with a trip to Habsburg Castle (see separate entry). The pleasant open-air bathing complex, alongside the River Aare, is under lifeguard supervision. The 25-metre swimmers’ pool has a non-swimmers’ bay and is complemented by a children’s paddling pool. Features include a children’s playground, one-metre diving board, ample grassed sunbathing areas with shade and games areas for Frisbee, badminton, table tennis, boules, etc. Facilities include changing cubicles, showers and toilets. There is a barbeque area, kiosk and an open-air restaurant.
