Via Ferrata is a cross between rambling and mountaineering and is suitable for both children and adults. Climbers use rungs fixed to the rock and have a safety belt attached to a cable to protect against potential falls. The Via Ferrata in Tière is 460 metres long and crosses over the waterfalls of the Tière River. Departure is from the Sous-Scex Bridge. A specially marked trail from Champéry and Val-d’Illiez leads to the Via Ferrata. Information on guided outings is available from the Tourist Office. Two sports shops in Champéry hire out the necessary equipment.
