The Palais des Nations was built between 1929 and 1936 and extended in 1973. Twice as large as the Château de Versailles, it is located on the picturesque Ariana estate and has a wonderful view of Mont-Blanc and Lake Geneva. The architecture is typical of its time. The treasures inside include numerous of works of art. The vast park overlooking the lake, where it is located, was donated by the City of Geneva. The park itself is worth visiting for the many century-old trees, as well as striking sculptures, such as the orb sphere.
