The trail from Tschenten Alp to Schermtanne is one of the most popular winter walks in the Adelboden. The Tschenten Alp starting point is reached by cable car and is some 1,940 metres above sea level, providing superb views of the Adelboden valley, probably best seen from the Panorama Restaurant terrace. The route to Stiegelschwand, and on to Schermtanne, descends 450 metres and provides superb mountain views; it passes picturesque barns and through forests. The Schermtanne restaurant is a good place to relax and enjoy the spectacular Bernese mountain landscape before returning to Adelboden by bus, romantic horse carriage, or on foot.
