Located in the renovated St Joseph’s Chapel, the Alain Bordier Foundation opened the Tibet Museum in April 2009. The exhibits were collected over a period of 30 years and consist of some 300 sculptures, paintings and ritual objects from Tibet and surrounding ancient Buddhist cultures. The oldest Buddhist statues date from the 6th/7th centuries and the exhibits cover the Swat Region and Kashmir, North-Eastern India and Burma, Tibetan Thangka Paintings, Nepal and Nepalese Schools in Tibet and Tibetan Copper and Brass Traditions.
